Detailed descriptionHi! I have an Asus Zenbook Duo (UX482E) running the latest Windows 10 version. The device is only a month old, and passes the PC Health Check for running Windows 11 on all parameters. I am not a heavy user and haven't tweaked much in the laptop either.
I tried updating to Windows 11 after downloading the Installation assist, and in the fourth stage of the update (where the screen gets all blue), the install keeps failing. Every time, the install fails at 59%, with Error Code 0xC1900101. After checking online forums, I performed a Clean boot and then tried the installation- which again failed at 59%. I also tried the system health restore via Command prompt, but no change. The Update troubleshooter does not detect a problem either. At this stage, I'm really out of clues what to do. I am not looking to tweak the BIOS- because I don't wanna get paranoid over getting the new OS.
Can someone please tell me what to do? If I install via USB, is there any chance my system would get bricked? Should I wait for the update to be officially rolled out to my device? Should I contact Asus or Microsoft, if at all? Any answers at this point would help- thank you so much!

I also have a UX482 and installed Windows 11 Pro, but from a usb stick. It was a clean install so I backup all my data first. I've installed win 11 pro version because I upgraded my win 10 licence, that came with the PC, to win 10 Pro.
That being said, I don't know if you're a power user or not, so can't advise you to do it. It's up to you, I was confident on doing so, because I install all versions from scratch since MS-Dos 5.0...
Anyway, if you want to go with it a little advice, you'll need

I have never done an install via USB stick. I did check out Youtube and it doesn't seem that hard, but I'm apprehensive I might mess up my system since I don't understand what goes behind the scenes in BIOS.
My work is cloud based so I'm not really worried about data loss. I'm just concerned I might brick my device or make it unusable, in case the installation fails again. Is that a possibility, in your opinion?

About messing up Bios, it could happen, but you don't need to change things, just the boot up device sequence. See this guide
[Notebook/Desktop/AIO] How to boot the system from USB flash drive/CD-ROM | Official Support | ASUS ...If you follow this two guides, the one from previous post, and this one, I think you'll be fine.
You don't need to insert a serial key, it's already built-in your device, when asked skip this step.
Another thing, you have to make a bootable usb thumb for windows 11. You can download the software from here
Download Windows 11The above is the English version, so head to your country site if you want a different language, then choose the option Create Windows 11 Installation Media.
You have to do this while you are in Windows 10, prior to install.
Follow the instructions or watch youtube videos, I'm sure there's many of tutorials...

Happy to share, I found a solution on the Microsoft community. I'd love to share a link, but this forum isn't allowing me to.
Apparently, my ScreenXpert software and Asus System Control Interface were creating issues. I uninstalled the drivers, and then reinstalled them post upgradation. Happy to be checking out the new OS for now 🙂
