Web cam image suddenly fuzzy/grainy

The built-in webcam on my Asus VivoBook has suddenly gone fuzzy and grainy. I have tried the following without success.
I have reset the camera app
I have updated and reinstalled the webcam drivers
I have cleaned the lens
It currently looks like this. Any help deeply appreciated. Thank you.

I have a new model S512F on which I am using the built-in webcam and am experiencing the same problem.

Some times it may happened with poor quality camera driver , and with improper camera application.
For checking purpose, install Skype application and adjust the video settings in skype application.
