Asus Vivobook Pro 14 Fingerprint scanner not working after bios upgrade

Hi All,

I've a Asus Vivobook Pro 14 (MQ7400QE) and after upgrading BIOS from 307 to 311 I've noticed that the fingerprint scanner which is integrated in to the power button is not being detected by Windows 11.

Homepage: https://www.asus.com/laptops/for-home/vivobook/vivobook-pro-14x-oled-m7400-amd-ryzen-5000-series/hel...

I used MyAsus app on my laptop to upgrade the BIOS. After the upgrade when I rebooted I'd to use my Windows pin to login.

I opened Device Manager and find that no Biometric Hardware is detected.

I also downloaded and installed the driver for the Biometric Authentication from the homepage under "Drivers and Utilities" section. This too hasn't helped in detecting the Biometric hardware.

I also tried downgrading the BIOS using the EZ Flash Utility in the BIOS but I think downgrades are not possible.

I would appreciate if someone could help in enabling the finger print scanner on my laptop.

Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention that I followed the guide on the following page as well but haven't been lucky.

@tjagad
If you do not see the fingerprint device in the Device Manager, it is possible that there is a hardware malfunction.
I will report your situation to the technical team for further confirmation. If there are any updates, I will promptly respond to you.
Thank you.

@Falcon_ASUSThanks for responding.

It was all functioning fine till I updated the BIOS. Moment I upgraded the BIOS it went off the device manager in Windows 11 and Windows started complaining that there is no biometric sensor on the laptop.

Is there anything I can do to check if the part is still functional ?

@tjagad
The BIOS 311 was released in July last year, and we have not received any similar feedback until now.
As mentioned before, if the device is not detected in the Device Manager, it may indicate a hardware malfunction.
We would recommend taking your laptop to a repair center for further investigation.
