I have an ROG Phone II model ASUS_I001D. When I check the IMEI on various internet sites such as imei.info, my equipment is identified as a ROG Phone, not a ROG Phone II,
This is the result:
Model: ROG Phone
Brand: ASUS
IMEI: TAG: 357064 FAC:10 SMR: xxxxxx cd:x (i replaced the numbers by x)


Could you please explain why does this happen? 
Does this mean that my equipment is not original and was possibly tampered with?

Highly likely yes, it could of been tampered. You should take your device back to the phone seller.

Hey.
Have you taken you phone to a service centre?
Also try 3D MARK benchmark and compare it with other ROG PHONE II scores.
Even my phone is being detected as ROG PHONE on imei.info. Also I have had my motherboard replaced.
