After that last update battery life has decreased tremendously without any change in usage. Anyone else experience this?

Chill guys, Asus is new in the Mobile Industry.

Oneplus is currently at it's 8 generation and asus at it's third.

Asus 5 generation Rog phone will probably beat every other Android device at that point of time.

Lol, you have no idea dude.
Asus had Padfone back in 2012. Asus also made Nexus devices for Google. Zenfone 5 was launched in 2014 before OnePlus One. So here Asus is more experienced in making mobiles. But still, OnePlus is way ahead of them.

Try using a different power socket , this happened with me as well , but trying different power points may surely solve the problem.

Did you clean the USB port with a toothpick with cotton and isoprophyl alcohol? USB-C has 24 pins. If one is dirty, can cause various issues.

Got an update yesterday 17.0240.2009.49 which resolved battery drain issue which came after build 17.0240.2009.47.
