The next time when your battery is full, let us know how is the temperature when you don't charge. Charging generates heat too and that adds to the strain.

As mentioned above, charging your phone while playing will generate more heat. I'm also guessing the ambient temperature is quite high since we're moving into the summer half of the year.
Other than the phone getting warm to the touch, you're not in risk of damaging your components at those temps.
