I’ve been experiencing excessive heating on my ASUS ROG Phone 7, especially during gaming and even while performing regular tasks. The device gets noticeably warm, affecting performance and battery life.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Updated to the latest firmware
Cleared cache and optimized background apps
Used X Mode and tried different performance settings
Enabled battery-saving modes to reduce load
Avoided charging while gaming
Despite these efforts, the phone still heats up significantly. Has anyone else faced this issue? Are there any recommended settings or fixes to keep the temperature under control?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I understand how frustrating the heating issue can be, especially on a gaming phone like the ASUS ROG Phone 7. Since you've already tried some troubleshooting steps, here are a few more things that might help:
In Armoury Crate, try switching to Dynamic or Ultra Durable mode instead of X Mode for less aggressive performance tuning.
Limit CPU and GPU usage manually in Advanced Mode to balance performance and temperature.
Go to Settings > Battery > Background Apps Management and disable unnecessary apps running in the background.
If you use a case, try removing it to improve heat dissipation.
Consider using the AeroActive Cooler if available—it significantly reduces heating.
Check for pending software updates in Settings > System > System Update.
Use an app like CPU Monitor to track real-time temperatures and see which apps cause overheating.
Playing games while charging generates extra heat . Try keeping the battery level between 20% and 80% for better longevity.
If the issue persists, you may want to check with ASUS Support or visit a service center to rule out hardware problems. Hope this helps! Let us know if you find a solution.
