Fast charging bug

It don't know if anyone is facing this or not but there are times when the phone doesn't fast charge . I had to change 3 wires(2 of which were original asus) before the phone acknowledged fast charging. It feels more of a software bug rather than the phone's charging jack.
Any thoughts ?

The other wire was the one which came with asus 6z. Yes it could be the case as that wire too have now died but even with braided cable( the new wire) didn't show fast charging a few times unless I plugged it back in again.
Now it is working as usual..

Does it always fast change every time you connect the cable that worked? Maybe the other two were partly broken unless they were both new?
