This is an issue I've been struggling with for years, when setting a custom fan curve for the GPU in Armoury Crate the fan gets locked at some arbitrary speed and doesn't respond to GPU temperature changes. It turns out this isn't an Armoury Crate issue, using G-Helper (3rd-party fan control app) the exact same behavior manifests. According to the developer of G-Helper, fan speed is directly controlled by the firmware, and the only thing Windows software can do is supply 8 pairs of GPU temperature and fan speed. This behavior also probably manifests on other Asus products. Given this situation, can any resources be set aside to fixing this issue?
