After updating the firmware to 3.0.0.4.388_24709-g15d5e47 on my XT9 mesh system (3 nodes), the Guest Network stopped working for older devices, including:
- Nokia 7 Plus – Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band
- OnePlus 2 – Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e – Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band
The main (non-Guest) network works fine for these devices. The Guest Network, however, only works for Wi-Fi 6-capable devices.
Before the firmware update, all my devices could connect to the Guest Network without any issues. The problem started after the upgrade.
Disabling Wi-Fi 6 compatibility (Wireless -> General -> 802.11ax / Wi-Fi 6 mode -> Disable) didn't help—older devices still can't connect.
Any idea how to fix it?
P.S. I connected a cheap Wi-Fi 6 travel router to one of the XT9 nodes via Ethernet and created my own Guest Network. It works with all my older devices... but c'mon, Asus.

I can confirm the exact same issue with my XT8 mesh system after upgrading from 3.0.0.4.388_24688 to 3.0.0.4.388_24709.
All my smart home devices, like lightbulbs etc., are unable to (re)join the 2.4GHz guest network.
@Aureliannn_ASUS can the team investigate and issue a fix for this please?
