This has happened with two RT-AXE7800 routers. I have a plethora of devices connected through wifi and other wired ports. However, when my desktop PC connected through ethernet is inactive and the screen saver activates or it goes into Power Save mode, the router will drop all other connections. My only solution is to not have my PC goes into Power Save/Screen Saver or put it into Sleep Mode anytime I'm not using it. Putting it into Sleep Mode anytime I'm not actively in front of it for more than 15 minutes isn't really an ideal solution.
I wonder if the router is trying to prioritize that connection somehow? It happens no matter which Ethernet port I use. I've also been through every setting I can find that would be about prioritizing that particular device and I can't find anything.

There is a router setting on some ASUS routers that can allow network shutdown as you describe. You need to find and change the setting to off.

I figured that. Any idea what the setting is called? I've looked through everything, and I have zero idea what that setting would be called.

Go to Settings>Network Tools>Wake-On-Lan>
You should be able to see and remove the device Mac address there.

There may be another setting related to system sleep or hibernation. If you can't find it, reset your router to its default settings.
