RT-AX86U Software Issues - Names & Missing IP's

I have an RT-AX86U and a RT-AX86S as an extender using AI Mesh.  I have a few issues with the software and it happens in the router console in browser as well as the iOS app.

First, I set names for devices and sometimes they show sometimes they don't.  Some are NOT iPhones so the IP is not changing and it still does not seem to stick.

Second, several IP addresses are missing from my connected WiFi devices list.  One is a desktop Win 11 machine.  I run ipconfig /all and see the IP but it does not show on either the webpage or iOS app.

Over the years I noticed this on various models of ASUS routers.  Not sure why it seems to happen...

Is it router specific?  Anyway to fix it?  Not firmware related since I have updated since owning it.

To better assist you with your AiMesh connection issue, we would like you to confirm the following:

  1. Firmware version: Please ensure that both your RT-AX86U and RT-AX86S routers are running the latest firmware version. You can check this by logging into the router's management interface.

  3. Rejoin AiMesh network: After performing a factory reset, please rejoin the RT-AX86S as a node in the AiMesh network.
  4. Clear old device records: We recommend that you clear the device records in the router management interface and allow devices to reconnect to update their names and IP addresses.
  5. Test with multiple devices: We recommend that you use multiple devices (such as smartphones, laptops, IoT devices) to connect to the AiMesh network to see if they can all display device names and IP addresses stably.
