I changed ISPs from Xfinity (with fixed IP address) to Fidium (dynamic IP address). I have an Asus ET12 router, and each time (approximately once a week it seems) when the WAN IP address changes from the ISP, my Asus ET12 can’t reconnect and I lose internet connectivity. I have been rebooting the router, and it connects fine with the new IP address. Some relevant router settings are:
- WAN connection Type: Automatic IP
- DNS Server: Get the DNS IP From your ISP automatically
- DHCP Query Frequency: Aggressive Mode
- Router firmware is up-to-date
I’d rather not have to pay an extra $10 per month to get a Static IP address. This seems like it should be straightforward to resolve, but I have searched various forums and can’t find a solution. Is there anyway that I can have the Asus ET12 automatically reconnect so that the recovery from these IP address changes doesn’t require a manual reboot? Thanks for any help.
