After updating firmware on my RT-AC68U router to the latest version, Windows File Explorer (FE) can’t see the USB HDD. If I click Network in the navigation pane, FE shows the router (RT-AC68U-C280) and this PC in the main window and this computer under Network in the navigation pane, but doesn’t show the Samba USB HDD at all. Worked fine before firmware update.
The USB HDD is set up as a Network Place (Samba) server. Enable share is ON. File and printer sharing on my laptop are ON. Password protected sharing is OFF. SMB 1.0 File Sharing is set to “SMB Direct”.
If I enter the router IP (\\192.168.1.1) in the FE address bar, the router IP appears in the navigation pane and the HDD contents appear in the main window, but the next time I open FE, the HDD contents are gone. The router doesn’t seem to recognize the HDD as a network place. I have another AX5400 router set up the same as the AC68U. FE (same PC) sees and I can access the USB HDD fine.
Any help or recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Roger
