ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) compability?

What ASUS routers can be added to ZenWiFi AX (XT8) as Mesh-nodes except another XT8?

Can't find a "compability list" anywhere...

There is no compatibility list because technically AiMesh is supposed to allow any combination of router and nodes.  Ideally if you end up purchasing a higher specification node then you would swap that into the router and XT8 as node.  I've read of reports that someone was unsuccessful adding a ZenWiFi as a node but I can't confirm nor deny this....

So technically I could add one "ASUS ZenWiFi AX Mini (XD4)" and it should work out of the box?

Yes, it should.  You'd preferably go to your XT8 settings  AiMesh and Add/Search for a node.  (Contrary to instructions if you wire it via Ethernet it should find it without having to add wirelessly then reposition).
