Weird grinding noise from GPU when starting up and in some programs. Not actual GPU watercooled

I have rencently been having issues with my ROG Crosshair X670E Hero which suddenly started making weird grinding noises on start up. At first I thought it was the GPU but it is quiet during gameplay. I do computer animations and on the completion of a frame the noise sometimes comes back and is on untill I shut the system down. Like I say I do not think it can be a GPU issue as its water cooled and there are no moving parts in the block and no trapped air.

I will attatch a vid to show you the noise I mean and then you can hear what it is doing. I tried to launch an RMA with Asus after talking to the US site, but for some reason the UK site will not recognise my SN even after being registered for just under a year.

Hello @wayne85

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Based on the abnormal sound you described, we can indeed hear it clearly in the video. However, we are unable to pinpoint the exact source.
If you believe the sound is not originating from the GPU, we kindly suggest removing the GPU and testing with integrated graphics to help identify the potential source of the noise.
If necessary, please perform a minimal component test by removing the chassis and only installing the CPU, a single RAM module, and the PSU on the motherboard to further isolate any potential hardware issues. In addition to ensuring that all hardware is correctly connected, we recommend cross-testing components such as the PSU and clearing CMOS.
Regarding the repair process, please be aware that product serial numbers may be entered incorrectly due to similar characters such as 0, O, S, and 5. Since further confirmation may involve personal information, I have DM you. Kindly check and confirm it at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

You can close this thread as it was nothing to do with the mobo, it was the psu. I'm so sorry. Thank you for reaching out to me though.
