USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 header compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 2 cable?

I am going to buy an ASUS motherboard with a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 internal header. But, I have a case with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port and cable. If I connect my case cable to this internal header, will my case port work? Are they compatible? Do they use the same header/connector?

Unless your case has a USB-C on the front i/o, then no because USB 3.2 gen 2x2 only supports USB-C. and gen 2x2 only supports gen 2x2.

At the same time, gen 2x2 is mainly found only on very high-end motherboards, if this is for a brand-new build I would recommend saving a few bucks on the motherboard and investing that money in better RAM, CPUs or GPUs.
