Updating X570-p motherboard

Pheqit
Star I

So I bought my MB back in 2019 and it has been great until I decided it was time to install an M2 . Hmm.. not recognised by the Bios. Ok time to update, been 5 years, time flies. Got the November 2024 update and flashed it with no problems. Only afterwards I try surfing the internet or try simple windows tasks and I get constant BSOD with many different errors. Min (yeah another BSOD, thankfully this forum saved my post to this point).

My new M2 ssd is now recognised now but I try to install a new copy of Windows on it and it always hits a BSOD just as it asks me for email and password.

I have tried to reroll the BIOS versions as far as possible but still the same.

Basically I am thinking a new motherboard which is a shame as I really love this motherboard but what choice do I have?

Thought it was a driver issue for many days and have spent a lot of time updating, removing and replacing most of them.

Strangely I can play many 3D intensive games on Steam with zero problems for hours such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Satisfactory but I try p (Another crash but recovered.) that is play an old game that seems to windows based and it crashes if I breath too hard.

I think I have a brick! Wish I had never tried to upgrade the motherboard. Think I am in the market to buy a new board in the new year, so sad!

Hello @Pheqit

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Could you please let us know your current BIOS version and whether your system drive and SSD is a fresh installation or has been in use for some time?
Based on the situation you described, it’s possible that the SSD firmware may require an update and we also recommend cross-testing with different SSD slots or another SSD to rule out potential hardware issues.
Additionally, please ensure that the chipset and all related drivers are updated to the latest versions available on the PRIME X570-P support page.
Kindly refer to the guide [Windows 11/10] Troubleshooting - Blue Screen Errors in Windows (BSOD) for further instructions if needed.

Thank you!

Thanks for trying to help. Removed all drives and only had the M2.2 drive installed, already checked for firmware updates so all should be good. Installing Windows fails every time at the login point before user name sometimes and during password always. Oh well I tried everything just think 5yo board not up to it so bought new Asus board for Xmas, wife never knows what to buy but I do. Just have to put up with windows crappy bsod for a little longer when doing desktop stuff! Sorry for the late reply.

Oh forgot to mention I have latest mb update and all drivers up to date and not joking I spent many hours updating every driver I could find. Only thing I didn't do was any firmware updates so I was kinda hopeful, shame it didn't work. If I can fix it I will build my wife a new pc.

Hello @Pheqit

Based on your initial post, it appears that this issue occurred after replacing the new M.2 SSD. Given this, the installation of the new device might be more related to the problem.
We recommend trying to swap back to the old M.2 SSD as a cross-verification or testing the new SSD in different M.2 slots on the motherboard.
Additionally, please refer to the Advanced Troubleshooting Steps for Blue Screen Errors or Bug Check Code Reference for further details on the blue screen error codes and suggested troubleshooting steps.

Thank you!
