problem with SSD detection by BIOS

i dont recall any changes to hardware but recently i have to start PC again 2nd time to make sata SSD being properly detected as KINGSTON SSD instead of PS[number] (and then its going bios showing this drive as 0gb instead of 480). MB is prime a520m-a. Yesterday it was detected after turning it on/off more than 5x. Still happens after enabling CSM

Hello @mrsh777

May I ask if the SSD issue occurred following any recent changes, such as a BIOS or Windows update?
Could you please confirm if the current SSD is connected using an adapter or extension cable, and whether the issue of the SSD only being recognized after several boot attempts was a one-time occurrence?
Is the BIOS version currently installed the latest one available on the official website, and has clearing CMOS helped in resolving the issue?
Based on your description, we recommend backing up important data from the SSD, avoiding using adapter to install SSD, and cross-testing with another SSD to isolate any potential hardware issues.

Thank you.

-while ago i updated win10 from 20h2 to 22h2

-its just normal sata cable

-it happens every day when starting pc since week or more. usually have to turn off and on again and it detects properly and boots OS. 2 times it happened not before restarting pc at least 5x

-updated bios today from 3002 to 3610 and many settings were reset. Didn't clear CMOS

-PC has connected 4 drives, 2x hdd sata, ssd sata and usb drive. Removing usb drive before start doesnt solve it

If this keep happening maybe ill try to move drive from sata port 2 to 1 or another. Some time ago there was lightning/thunder hit nearby. It damaged lots of stuff at neighbour, here only modem and router (pc was turned on at the time). Maybe its result of that. no idea

PC was fine from january 2021 till recently. only thing chnaged was ram,cpu and cpu cooler in january 2023. The other 2 drives are much older than this ssd and fine (they are hdd)

i found many posts online saying that modem, router, ethernet and ssd are fried after thunderstorm. In my case 2 last are not that obviously and concistently damaged, cause ssd sometimes is ok sometimes not. As for ethernet i felt its broken right after storm cause router was connecting to laptop but not PC. Then it was fine. And recently i had 1 or 2 situations where after boot new modem's lights and setup page was showing all fine yet no internet (the same like when ethernet was wrongly configured so it could connect to setup page but not internet from the dsl modem)
