PRIME X299-DELUXE II - is it 128GB or 256GB Max Ram?

Hello.

I bought PRIME X299-DELUXE II in Germany. The website at https://www.asus.com/de/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-x299-deluxe-ii/ says that the motherboard supports max 256GB RAM, but if you go to the US version - https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-x299-deluxe-ii/techspec/ , it says that it supports 128GB max. Which one is to believe? I wanted to buy 8X32 sticks, but if the US version is correct, then it won't work.

(Just visiting .... I don't work here.) I searched "256GB" on that German web page but it was not found. I do see in both the German and English manuals that the Asus Prime X299-Deluxe II supports 128GB. I also noticed that the  Asus Prime X299- A II supports 256GB. I would expect what's written in the manuals to be reliable.

It's written in Asus's website. https://www.asus.com/de/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-x299-deluxe-ii/techspec/

Retailers list X299 Deluxe II as 256 capable in many other countries, but US.

But the manual truly says that it's only 128 GB. Who do I trust here?

Curious ... Canada's ASUS site also lists 128GB while the UK shows 256GB:

https://www.asus.com/uk/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-x299-deluxe-ii/techspec/

Meanwhile ... all language versions of the manual show 128GB and none of the BIOS updates show any change to this max.

Perhaps Europe is using the same website design service and they're repeating the same typo.  Or the manuals are all wrong .... (???)

R 🙂

I ended up installing 4X32 GB RAM in Quad channel mode. For now it works fine!

But I don't know whether this will work in US board.
