Prime B550-Plus AMD - will not OC ram

Star I

Hello,

I have a Prime B550-Plus AMD with a 5900X and 32GB (two - 2*8GB sets) of cmk16gx4m2b3000c15 ram.

I can get it to 3000mhz with out an issue with the DOCP settings (had to DOCP the RAM and then iIwas able to OC the CPU to 4.2mhz.)

The issue i am having, i have read that my ram can go up to 3600mhz with no issues, however everything i have tried fails to be stable outside the DOCP settings with the 3000mhz.  this crash is so bad (even at 3200), i can't even get to BIOS.  have to manually clear and start over every time.

So, is this user error?  If so, please link or explain to me how to fix it.

If not, what ram should i get that will work at 3600+.  the MOBO claims it will handle above 4000mhz.

don't want to upgrade the CPU or Mobo at this time.  i think there is plenty of power left untapped.

Hi @canosgmk ,

based on your issue, when setting overclock, please make sure that you use DRAMs that in our QVL list.

You can refer to the following link.

Also, it is suggest that you follow the below steps to  optimize the memory performance by setting XMP or DOCP in BIOS.

Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.  Clearly, you read the title and dropped links with out comprehending what your customer is talking about.

IE: you didn’t answer the question.  If you read what I wrote, you will see I am using DOCP and I can’t use XMP cause it’s a AMD mobo.  … classic move
