Does the Maximus Z790 Formula require liquid cooling?

I was planning on getting a liquid cooling loop for my new build, but not right away.

I see the ROG Maximus Z790 FORMULA has a block, does it actually require liquid cooling or is the passive cool enough in normal operation (without overclocking)

Are you referring to the HybridChill VRM cooling system or another module?
Since the motherboard product is part of a custom-built desktop, the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 FORMULA does not restrict the use of either air or liquid cooling types. 
Therefore, we suggest selecting based on your own needs, case size, and usage habits. 
If you have any installation concerns, feel free to consult the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 FORMULA User’s Manual for further clarification.

Regarding the HybridChill VRM cooling system, you can find the specifications for this module on the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 FORMULA official website.
