ASUS TUF X299 MARK2 BIOS update to latest ver 4001

AkioJuni

Hi‌! I want to update my ASUS TUF X299 MARK 2 AC PI BIOS Revision 1102 firmware (OS Windows 10 Pro UK). It is asked on ASUS website to update ME version (now 11.10.0.1287) beforehand with MEUpdateTool_11.12.95.2499_T

(1) When I run that Tool, it remains locked onto an empty small dialog window freezed above icon bar, despite running as administrator or not. Aria AI says Intel management engine interface (my version is 11.10.0.1287) must be ok to run the Tool, but yes my device manager reports it working ok. Do you know how to solve that issue ?

(2) : after one day + restart, ME version has changed from 11.10.0.1287 to 51736.15498.52480.15498 without any windows dialog. Is this the usual way and may I update BIOS to 4001 now ?

Hello @AkioJuni

We apologize for the wait and any inconvenience this may have caused.
After further consultation with our engineers, we recommend sending the motherboard in for service, where the repair center can reflash the Intel ME firmware and update the BIOS to the latest version.
Please contact your reseller or ASUS local service team in your region for guidance on the repair process.
If you encounter any difficulties or concerns along the way, please feel free to DM me with your motherboard's serial number, as this may involve personal information. I will assist you in tracking the repair progress.

Thank you.

Hello @AkioJuni

Thank you for reaching out to us.
For the steps to update the Intel ME, we recommend referring to the instructions in [Motherboard] Intel® Management Engine Firmware Update Instructions (ME) to ensure the update process completes correctly.
Regarding the 51736.15498.52480.15498 string mentioned in (2), could you confirm if this appears in the BIOS?'
Kindly share images or screenshots showing this sequence to help us review the details further, and also provide images of the BIOS main page and the page displaying the Intel ME version.
Meanwhile, please refer to [Motherboard] How to update BIOS of the motherboard ?(Include different generation CPU) if needed.

Thank you.

Hello,

Please find here screenshot of Bios with Me version. On the top of the screenshot you can see the result of the Update tool applied, locked as a reduced window without any dialog, unlike point 3.1 of the procedure mentioned in your link.

Can you comment ? May I update my bios to latest version ?

By the way, is there any way to activate TPM2.0 on this motherboard to allow Windows 11 Pro installation ?

Thank you.

Due to the limitations to one picture by message, to complete my first answer to your request about sequence,  please find enclosed second screenshot of Windows ME Interface (does not match version of BIOS showed in my previous message))

Hello @AkioJuni

Based on the update you provided, it seems that the Intel ME update was not completed. Therefore, we do not recommend proceeding with the BIOS update at this time.
Could you please try updating the Intel ME again following the step-by-step guide and record the process? This will help us identify any discrepancies with the FAQ.
Additionally, please share the complete specifications and models of your currently installed CPU, GPU, RAM, SSD/HDD, and PSU.

For enabling TPM 2.0, please refer to the guide on [Motherboard] Which ASUS model supports Windows 11 and how to setup TPM 2.0 in BIOS?.
If any settings options are missing, we suggest completing the BIOS update and checking again afterward.

Thank you.
