Explained the issue and added this thread's link via Email. They asked me to contact Asus Service center initially then I said there is none in my location and had a long talk with one the executive and finally got replacement approved.
Yes I'm going to keep the phone despite several issues. Because I like the good aspects like performance and AirTriggers.
In my case the notification panel is darkest on 120Hz and brightest on 60Hz. On 90Hz is in between. Also the shade of grey changes with each refresh rate. The least reddish being on 60Hz, some on 90 Hz and most on 120Hz. The colour is not affected on max brightness. But the same phenomenon of colours becoming warmer on minimum brightness I have noticed on Note 8
My phone has got two issues. Obviously red tint is there with low brightness but even if the brightness is increased, it shifts as the the screen is tilted. Has anyone observed the same?
Yes we do use brightness below 10% or even at 0% and it's not persistent on 10% it's clearly visible at 40% as well. It's not about user experience it's about how you give justice to your phone and how you satisfy your customers. I have the same issue and i would love to see grey once on my Asus Rog 2 rather than red tint. If you could do something about it, that would be great and i have high hopes that devs would able to solve it.
It is obvious that Asus will not say anything and that it is probably a hardware problem, but we will slow it down, the red tint appears when the screen brightness drops to less than 50%, then the truth. Who uses the brightness to less than 50%? In that video it is clear that you have to minimize the brightness for the red dye to appear and nobody to shine the brightness levels to that end
The explanation in XDA forum sounds logical. If this is the case, as long as we have accurate colours playing games, taking and watching pictures and videos, does it really matters if the shade of grey in the notification center is redish? If colour accuracy is affected all the time, that would be a real problem.

To whom you emailed this? Did they asked you to email this or you bring this up?
The asked me to send an video describing the issue. They've sent an email to which I had to reply. What do you mean by "You bring this up?"
is this the tencent version?
No bro,its the Indian version. But you can call it such as it's at the same price - INR 37,999(~3,799 Yuan) but it has no Tencent logo & partnership
Interestingly it disappeared when the refresh rate is 60
Even I'm facing this exact same issue.. I'm trying to get the replacement from the Flipkart but those guys are not accepting this as a problem.

I have red tint at low brightness, I'm waiting for an Asus answer here to know if this is a defect of the AMOLED or it can be fixed via software.

It is a hardware issue, that's why there is no response from Asus. Feels cheated after buying this phone.

Just so people know, this is likely a software issue. It'll likely get addressed eventually. You can read more at https://forum.xda-developers.com/rog-phone-2/help/red-tint-issue-solution-t4000249

I am also having the same issue.I would like to know whether its a hardware issue or software as i still have my return window.
