Fingerprint sensor activates in pocket

Whenever I'm walking the fingerprint sensor gets triggered which is annoying because it drains battery and requires me to input the pin number due to too many failed attempts. So far I have it only activated when at home and not walking. Which is a bit unfortunate. Maybe you can implement an option that the fingerprint sensor only actives after pressing the power button.

Hi

1- You can try to enable the ASUS Pocket mode, for pocket detection. We are also making improvements to that function.

2- the feature you are requesting actually already exist! You can go to Settings -> Security & lock screen -> Fingerprint

Then find the "Unlock device" (first row), click the text (not the toggle, keep it on) .

That allows you to customize its behavior - for example you can turn off the "Screen off unlock" meaning Fingerprint reader wont read unless the screen is turned on.

Thnx for the tipp, much better, no accidental calls, a bit annoying but still better then random calls.
Now only this issue and I would be pleased 🙂

@CH_ASUS Thank you for the tipp. Much better user experience.

Now this issue "wink wink" and I would be very pleased. https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/49404/call-gets-muted#latest

I'd also like to add that we're already looking into the possibility of blocking the fingerprint feature with our pocket mode

Phones get taken out of pockets ussually. And users usually (or am I the crazy one?) want to unlock it after that, preferably directly with the fingerprint. If it's placed on a table it's even more difficult to push the power button. Or should we disable pocket mode every time it's not in one?
Maybe a better idea is to fix that proximity sensor to not trigger for no reason instead of disabling other functions?

I think what @Anders_ASUS meant is that when phone detects that it is in the pocket (if you have the pocket mode enabled) it will disable the fingerprint scanner. It doesn't mean that the fingerprint scanner will be disabled if you turn on the pocket mode in the settings.

By definition shouldn't it do that already?
"prevent the screen from reacting accidentally while your device is inside your pocket or bag" - i assume 'prevent the screen' includes the reader too.
Issue is that the device is not detecting the pocket/bag.
I was already forced to disable double tap 2 wake because of this, which i used a lot...
