Hilarious. I've already posted multiple requests, some not even that demanding, yet NONE have been implemented through any of the previous FOTAs. More than 4 months have passed and what "resolution" did i get from the devs and mods? Nothing. Nada. As a matter of fact, to anyone here that has ever made a feature request post, no matter how petty or stupid it was, what resolution have YOU got from them?

A fix for the black crush was the most demanded fix in this forum, did we ever get it? Ofc not because "iT tAkEs TimE"... sure, keep telling yourself that.

OP has a point. The 3 was advertised to have or at least made to look like it has one of the best displays available for media consumption yet look where we are now. How can we be sure this isn't gonna be the case for the 5 again? (Don't answer this, it's rhetorical)

It's only fair that users that felt cheated, apparently in this case, is OP, should be able to warn others. I cannot care about the black crush anymore as there is no hope with the service we have now.

What point OP do have Don't buy Rog 5 it's even a considerable a point ?
I am an android developer for almost 6 years now and I know how things are complicated. Adding even a VoLte feature will take months of work . We can't just just randomly throw request to add something and next day cry we didn't got it yet . Everything needs time to get perfect results can the end .
About black crush issue when i bought the device i had 100% black crush issue now it's 10% left 😊 not even one i have 2 Rog 3 devices one for personal use and 1 for rom / kernal development .
Hope you understand and try to wait . Company didn't rejected to solve the issue yet .

and be honest, would you rather them use time on adding the few things you alone have requested? or would you rather them work on android 11 and fixing the black crush issue? genuine question

I'm no ROG dev but the fact that they've made excellent software for this phone proves that they're more than capable of granting feature requests in no more than a couple of months. So why aren't they? Is it because the mods are trying to save face by giving us hope? Telling us lies that they've forwarded our requests when they probably haven't because they know the devs won't even care or is it because the devs did receive them and they actually don't care at all and are just using the time to work on the apparently unfixable black crush as an excuse? Or is it both?
And to answer your question, although it's quite laughable since they never even seem to have worked on the feature requests and the black crush in the first place (and if you claim they did, it was a half-assed job), no I don't care about any of those anymore. They've proven their unreliability. A11 doesn't interest me one tiny bit. I'd rather stay on A10 for all i care.

Yeah? Well when i got this, it was 10% black crush on version .50ish or whatever and then went completely downhill from there. A decent amount of users here can attest to this.

To be honest oems don't add features midway
When mods say "forwarded your request" they send it to developers for review and it's not something that gets added with an ota if the feature is actually requested by many then the likelihood of it getting added with the phones next android upgrade or oem ui upgrade is higher
The chances of adding features through Ota is very slim it's more likely with new oem ui version (zen ui in cases of Asus)
For example the battery care features options including charging limit, 3 finger screenshot was requested by rog 2 users and it made its way to zen ui 7 on rog 3
And zen ui still retains call recording feature (many oems have not implemented this on a10/a11)
One more example I'd take here is oneplus' Oos they have an ideas program every 1 year or so and features there are shortlisted to be added and I'd say that most of the popular ones are discarded oos doesn't have an fps meter, you need root to access wide angle in gcam, no ability to add new system wide fonts without root and many other things which were requested by their users but still isn't added
But they did add charging sound when plugging in your phone last year out of all the useful stuff suggested in their program
Asus fares better here at this point zen ui is the perfect mix between "stockness" and features in many aspects if there's a genuinely good feature suggested by users which the developers approve then it'll make its way to the next iteration of zen ui
