I received the latest OTA update on 25th night and since yesterday my phone keeps crashing. I also noticed that while opening anything, the network (both WiFi and mobile network) keep resetting on its own. The phone crashes randomly and has become pretty much annoying and useless. It's making my daily usage counter productive. Anyone facing this issue and is there any solution to this?

Any update or solution to this? It's been like this from day 01
  • just reset and check again.. if its software issue it will get resolved..
  • Its become worse. I had done a factory reset on 26th night. The problem persisted and today it has become worse. I have managed to reset the phone again. But now the phone keeps crashing in the first time setup screen. This is really poor quality. I don't know whether the problem is software or hardware, but now I am afraid to turn on my phone.
  • I dont have such issues i updated via full update file (1.8gb) instead of OTA (approx 300 mb) from here https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-6-ZS630KL/HelpDesk_BIOS/
    Mine is 8/256 version.
  • I've updated via OTA, version 8/256 too, no issues for now
  • I hope the ASUS service people can fix whatever is wrong with my phone.
  • Same problem here

Asus has been careless this time around, never expected this! Guys please keep us posted on any solutions, Also anyone from Chennai here?
  • So I went to the service center here in Bangalore. They said if it's a software issue then they would return it the same day in 3 to 4 hours. But after some time they told me it's a hardware issue and it will take 4 to 5 days. I hope it gets fixed. Fingers crossed.

@ankur.kar Doesn't genuine Asus centre have replacement policy?
  • Not sure. But there's a mail chain going on where I have requested for the same. This is a bad quality control issue from ASUS end. Their phone is showing hardware problems within a month. Very disappointed.
  • We have concluded that all devices with these issues must be sent in to your ASUS Service Center. It's most probably related to hardware issue even though it started with the latest update for some customers. So far, I have seen about 10 members in the english section of zentalk mentioning about these issues. If it had been software, then we would have see a lot more complaints.
  • Why doesn't ASUS policy handle this situation by initiating a full replacement or a refund? I had received the product on 13th July and after the update on 25th July the phone started showing the above issue. Your customer is buying the phone for INR 31,999 and the product comes out defective with hardware issues (as you have also confirmed) within 2 weeks of usage and ASUS doesn't even have the decency to do the necessary and replace the product or initiate a refund. This is unacceptable. Why should a customer after spending such a large amount on your product use a repaired item after using the phone for barely 2 weeks? ASUS should own up to its fault.
  • So the latest update is that ASUS won't provide me a replacement or refund because according to their policy I had the phone for 13 days which is more than the 10 days replacement period. I have to be satisfied with the repaired phone. Pathetic service and policy set up by ASUS.

bro your phone got fixes after going to service center?

  • They are waiting for parts. They are replacing the motherboard and camera module. They had told me on last Monday that I would get the phone back in 4 to 5 days. But now they are saying next week since the parts are not available yet. And they haven't given any date.
  • Day 8 gone and no updates from ASUS yet whether the repairs are even happening and when I may get my phone, hopefully in working condition.
