Maybe clear your App cache and check your notifications? App Update? Just suggestions. I use WhatsApp but am interested in trying out Signal. Let us know if you find a solution.
I don't have much friends either but I use it every day for political reasons. So I can pretty much say that ever since the update I have noticed little issues on this app and auto disabling of accessibility features. But I must give a big shout for improvement in RAM management. Pror to this update my device became laggy after certain period of usage. Now it's back to his it should perform
ok thanks. i'll test it out and see if it's suitable for me. right now i can go through the whole day with normal usage on balanced mode and still have at least 30% left before i go to bed so i'm not too concerned about battery life but if i can get more than that will be awesome lol. thanks again!
The description of this mode says it quite clearly, when the phone is asleep it cannot notify anything, only when you wake it up you will receive all notifications, for example for the whole night.
It depends on the needs of the user, whether this is a problem for him or not. Everyone has a different need, so you need to choose the right mode.
mine says mobile data will be temporarily disabled shortly after your device enters sleep mode so i thought this meant only data will be turned off (like email and calendar notifications) but i would still get phone calls and texts. if this turns off all notifications then i guess i can't use it. so back to balanced mode hehe! thanks!
Of course calls, texts, alarms are active even in the most power saving mode, but apps notifications over mobile or wifi data will be sleeping with the phone :)
OP asked about notifications from signal app so we talked here just about apps notifications over data.
Yeah I never miss notifications (power saving, not super saving). I can't speak for all apps but I get FB Messenger, WhatsApp, Signal messages as well as calls wheither my phone has been asleep or not. As you said, the description says it turns off mobile data, not wifi. I suppose if I was somewhere without WiFi (rare) I might miss one. Not sure.

What is your battery mode?
You can only have real time notification in Balanced mode...
I haven't noticed any problems with Signal, but unfortunately I only have 2 people I know that use it so not much traffic to comment.

What is your battery mode? Did you checked it?
For the "battery mode" that jis is referring to go to settings --> battery --> powermaster --> battery mode. I'm on "power saving", for example.
I know what that means
@skylerwolfe do u always leave it on power saving mode? just wondering what it affects as compared to balanced mode. thanks.
Power saving disables internet connection when the phone is on idle mode. It re-enable it when you re-use the phone.

Yes. I haven't noticed any issues. I hope it saves more battery lol.
