Minimum Brightness Too High to use in dark.
The minimum brightness is just too bright for using this smartphone in dark environment. Every night i have to use a screen filter app ( Darker-screen filter ) to minic the 0 brightness functionality.
It would be great if the brightness could be lowered a little bit more on this already osm smartphone. @Anders_ASUS
Thank you.

probably can't because cheap lcd
Have you tried the dark theme option? It.might help you!
No. It doesn't help. 🙂
Can't see the problem maybe you have owl eyes 👀
Do you really think the lcd is cheap??
I don't feel the same.
🦉 Hello darkness, my old friend 🦉
IMO the LCD's quality is good but not excellent. Also you can't lower brightness level below minimum due to display's design, not software. I don't complain though as my previous Samsung Galaxy S4 and S6's amoleds had a slight burn-in
@shiv1g
Do you have enabled adaptive brightness? If not, try it.
If it doesn't help check your phone against another ZF6 whether this is not a hardware problem.
For me is minimum brightness on mine ZF6 perfectly ok, so I have no need to install any screen filter apps as on my previous LG phones with OLED & LCD displays.
The minimum screen brightness is controlled here
<integer name="config_screenBrightnessSettingMinimum">10</integer>
The default in android is 10 which is pretty high, maybe Asus could lower it to 2, I'd recommend lowering it to 1 (which is the absolute minimum) but I doubt an oem would do that since it could potentially cause screen flickering although I've never seen that happen on my old leeco le pro 3 which has a cheap LCD
I use the app "screen dimmer" which allows a quick tile to easily toggle. Too bright for me at night too but I think it's personal preference.
At night, i turn down the brightness slider all the way to 0, however, even then the screen feels a bit brighter than others phones. Just now i compared my phone side to side with my friend's iPhone 8 plus. The 0 brightness on the iphone is much more enjoyable and easy on eyes. I would say that the 0 brightness on the iphone is about 50 to 70% more dim than the 6Z.
There is the night light feature too! That might help you... Give it a try
I'm already using it.
This functionality helps to change the colour temperature of the screen from cold to warm. Unfortunately this feature doesn't aid in lowering the backlight intensity of the 6Z LCD screen.
Do you have enabled adaptive brightness?
Yah. Just now.
There is very likely nothing wrong with your screen.
It is a preference.. how low people want the lowest brightness.
There are also considerations to think about, every panel and tech will behave differently under different brightness and so on.
Thanks for your feedback!
I see. So there is a difference between us, I still have a reserve to go lower, but I don't need to do it, despite that I made my screenshot in total darkness. By the way, I am one of those who bothers too much light and who protects their eyes.
So please check your phone against another ZF6, just to be sure.
I agree with you mate, happens with me also
Hey @_jis_
so i have been using the adaptive brightness for about a month now, and i can say that it doesn't help. The brightness level intensity is same at night no matter if I'm using adaptive or manually controlling the slider.
I request you and @Anders_ASUS to please take my request to lower the brightness a bit more (just like iphone 8 if possible).
Did you have the opportunity to compare your display with the display on another ZF6 to rule out the possibility that there is a hardware problem or fluctuations in your LCD panel parameters?
