i am talking about earphones which comes in box
initially sound in 1 earpiece low compared to another one

First test them on another device to confirm that one earpiece is really defective.

Same thing happened to my earphones as well. The left earphone became weak and started to produce less (almost by half sometimes) sound as compared to the right one.
I contacted my local Asus service center and they where very helpful. As my earphones where under warranty (6 months on accessories), they replaced them with a completely new pair of earphones that came with the 6Z.
