this is definitely a software bug that is related to sound output not through built-in speakers but through headphones - therefore proposed solution would not help with this issue.

if you know how to unlock bootloader and flash a custom recovery I would suggest to try flashing stock oreo firmware and check if it solves the issue.........that would be the quickest solution......provided you already know how to unlock bootloader etc.
