No need to unlock boot loader. But only cons here is if you install OTA then you need to remove it again.

Can you please mention what network you are using

For both Airtel and Jio

Then both of you has to on an unlimited plan

In Airtel mobile data has to be enabled for both people to use Video call(Airtel customer care guys will say your mobile won't support Video calls so you need to explain them on this and get Video call activated)
