Zenfone 9 is here and as many of you probably have seen, we got some pretty impressive cameras this time around!
So I propose a thread with some of our best pictures, the pics I will upload are taken by normal average people and without any enhancements.

The picture above was taken with the camera's Light trail mode by a waterfall.

Another day with this phone. I made a group photo, a shot of my mom walking with her grandson and all of these are blurry and oversharpened.

Is there any chance an update will fix the shutter time and decrease post processing?

This is a huge let down for a phone with this price.

I have another comparison shot between the stock camera (left column) and GCam (right column). The top row is with HDR disabled, the bottom row with HDR enabled (regular HDR+ on GCam). This was something I wanted to test out since a user I believe on reddit did mention that the extreme oversharpening was caused by the HDR processing.

The verdict: HDR mode in the Stock cam leads to the expreme sharpening of the image. However the top row clearly shows that the stock cam also does aggressive de-noising which also leads to loss in detail as you can clearly see on the concrete barrier in the background.
But still: with HDR turned of the images do get much more similar.
Please ASUS: adress this and fix the camera performance. The hardware is great and this is an issue that can be solved still. Watching the discourse about the phone though it is also a major turn-off for a lot of people.

Greetings!
These are photos taken by my Zenfone 9. Top one is taken by Asus's camera app and bottom one by GCam app. As you can see grass in Gcam's photo is much better...
Other thing I notices are some strange distortions around trees when crop/zoom image.
I don't know are these sharpening problems but should be addressed some how.
Bellow are wide angle photos taken by Asus's app and GCam app. Guess you will be able to find out which one is taken by which app... (hint: check grass again).

Yes @vasilnvalchev the banding around the foliage (or any high contrast areas) seems to be due to the sharpening.
Try turning off HDR to slightly improve the image quality. Then however the aggressive de-noise gets visable clearly.
The overall problem seems to be a combination of sharpening and de-noising. This needs to be fine tuned.

gcam seems very unoptimized for the new sensor, There are some major noise, whitebalance is ruining the "mood" and the exposure is to high, the sky is blown out.
What really frustrates most people when seeing this is how superior the ASUS version would be if it wasnt for the dumbfk sharpening.
