One thing is that two years of software support has been announced for the Zenfone 9. If I see information in this forum that the first software version is dated 07/28/2022 (ZenFone 9 _WW/EU_32.2004.2004.84) and if Wikipedia says that the phone was First released September 15, 2022, then I would reasonably expect that the last update will be offered to customers during August / September 2024. As can be seen here in the forum, the last update was announced on 07/01/2024. If this were the last update, it would be very borderline and rather damaging to the company's reputation.
If you look at the software support of the previous model - Zenfone 8, for example, I see the first software version on 05/13/2021 and the last update on 01/13/2024 (Phone First released May 12, 2021). That's more than 2.5 years of support.
Based on this, I believe that we still have another update waiting for us (and it may not be the last) and from the perspective of a user who plans to stay on the Zenfone 9 for some time, the later this update comes, the better for us. If I noticed correctly, the update updates not only the Android security patch, but also the built-in Asus applications (gallery, recorder, phone book, calculator...). I would like to have these components as up-to-date as possible.
The second thing is the Android security patch update, where I feel that three years of support were announced - however, I am not sure about this and I cannot find it anywhere on the Internet.

I myself upgraded from A13 to A14 at the end of the warranty period with concerns (after reading some posts here in the forum...), but one month after the upgrade I have to say that apart from the one issue that I am currently discussing here in the forum in another post, I have not found any other problem that the transition to A14 would cause me. However, I upgraded with the latest update package from the Asus Zenfone 9 Support website (Version WW-34.0304.2004.145, 3.35 GB, 2024/07/04) and after the update itself I reset the phone to factory settings once again (via Fast Boot - Recovery Mode - Wipe Data/Factory Reset).
Have you tried resetting the phone to factory settings after updating to A14?
