Standby screen, new notifications are very dark

I have noticed that app notifications popping up on the Standby screen are sometimes very dark. The notification cannot be read without approaching the phone or lifting it off the desk. It appears as if the screen does not fully brighten.
The problem is not consistent and I'm not sure what it depends on. It occurs in both bright and darkened rooms.

I use dark system color.

An option to set the AOD brightness and if AOD auto dim should be used would be great. Like the Pixel and Samsung phones.

So after 3 days with Android 13 I think the problem is fixed. Thank you guys!

I've recently got A13 and the AOD brightness hasn't changed. Still far too dark 90% of the time. It really needs a minimum brightness setting.

Please make the AOD brightness manually adjustable.
Best would be to be able to adjust the "bright" and "dim" level.
Or adjust the number of lux on which the AOD switches to the darker mode.
