-gps icon is still on
- if switch off position service - goes off
- if switch on again - sometimes icon goes on immediately sometimes after few mins,
if i check which apps used position - not any app at list at that time
- after restarting - icon goes on immediately
does anybody the same problem?

According to ASUS support team, they are aware of the issue. 

For now, all you can try is a temporary "fix" by uninstalling Google Play Service Updates. 
(mentioned in this thread: https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/66096/new-feature-bug-or )

"Uninstall Google play service via Setting>apps and notification> see all apps>tap more option>show system>google play service>tap more option>uninstall updates.
After uninstalling updates you need to reboot the phone. This should make the GPS icon disappear."

As someone reported on ZenFone 8 forum, it's related to screen night mode.
Just schedule it manually instead of "from dusk till dawn" .
