GPay (partially) broken, unable to use it for public transport

Hi.
One week in, converted to the Zenfone 9 from a Pixel device. Both are updated to the latest software, OS and apps. For GPay this means I'm on 159.1.1 (the latest at the time of this writing).
With the Pixel I can
Pay at supermarkets, restaurants, you name it. The default payment terminal? Works
Pay for public transport in Singapore, bus and train services: You check in and check out, done
With the Zenfone I can
Pay at supermarkets, restaurants, you name it. The default payment terminal? Works
BUT I cannot pay for public transport. The gantries for train services refuse the payment with "Invalid card" and the bus terminals say something along the lines of "Please select a valid card". This is ... annoying. Annoying enough for me to potentially give up on the phone as a daily driver, because I need this All. The. Time.
Now, by process of elimination, this isn't a problem of
My bank card. It works as a physical card (if I bring it along) and it's the same card registered on both the Pixel and my Zenfone 9
The local infrastructure in Singapore: It works for everyone else, works with the Pixel, works with the physical card, doesn't work with my Zenfone 9
The GPay version: The version is the same across my devices
This leads me to the conclusion that there's something broken in the NFC support on my device, whether it's hardware issues or an (ASUS related) software problem.
Any idea how this could be tracked down and (hopefully) fixed? Being unable to get around my city without bringing my wallet is a hugely annoying issue and enough to regret the Zenfone 9 purchase if it stays unfixed..

Dude. Please stop. Not sure what you're trying to prove here.. Oh! I just remembered that Trolls are literally from Denmark. And I fell for it..

AS I CLEARLY STATED the communication between google pay and VISA is BROKEN. That I know for a fact, what I'm trying to figure out is why.

It's not. GPay works on other phones, with VISA cards. You know that for a fact? Citation needed.

What I stated about the terminals is 100% correct. That's why google pay doesn't work there but in stores etc.

100% correct? Easy to provide a source then, I guess? Yet you didn't. It worked before I got the Zenfone, still worked when the Zenfone Did Not (I brought two phones and tried side by side). According to all information I have, GPay works fine for people all around, VISA or MasterCard.

Because I have a huge dislike for know-it-alls and keyboard warriors like you, I invested a bit of time and energy to "Feed the troll 1"¹ showing the problem with my Zenfone and "Feed the troll 2"² showing a Pixel 4A working fine, with the same software/account and yes, a VISA card of all things! Who'd have thought that this is possible? GASP, Oh No, This Man Is Wrong?¿ Welcome to my ignore list, buddy.

I cannot post links, because I haven't spammed people with useless advice long enough, so .. build your own.

How about you start reading. Maybe I need to make it idiot proof to read so here we go, if you still don't get it then I'm sorry but nobody can help you:
The communication between Gpay and VISA on your particular phone is broken. wheter its caused by GPAY itself or a service that GPay relies on which broke the encryption/signature of the particular protocol used for the MRT is irrelevant. The fact remains that the communication between your card and GPay on your partuclar phone is not functioning properly. VISA has been reportedly been broken for GPay for a period of time, which most likely caused something to break.
So stop being a stubborn keyboard warrior and just try the steps out to get your GPay fixed instead of whining in my ears how you don't understand how NFC works. Also as for your "know it all keyboard warrior", the irony here is quite massive considering you refuse to potentially fix your gpay because you think you know better 😉

I gave a warning and you guys didn't listen.
Now I will delete any comments that are part of a fight/argument between users. Since I was asked not to close the thread.
Now please go and have a nice tea or coffee and stop arguing, no more attacks, ok?

I'm not going to help you, it's too much of a mess this google app depending on the continent/country, Google Wallet replaces Google Pay in France, the old and the new app will coexist in the United States and Singapore, while India will remain on Google Pay.
In addition, in France we like to change the world, stores often accept banking and/or Google applications but transport only accepts their applications.
Read this article anyway, which seems quite complete, in particular the obligation to recreate an account for the new application, United States and Singapore. see also the developer option activated which can cause problems

The article suggests that there should be no change to the tap and pay function.

"NFC tap-and-pay functionality won't really change once you set up the new app, but the New Google Pay app won't use your Google account for P2P payments anymore"

Which is what OP has an issue with.
