Double tap on status bar locks the phone

If you enable the "double tap to suspend" gesture (screen off in the settings), a double tap on the status bar will lock/suspend the phone.
This happens while using any app (not just on the home screen).
Here is some basic info:
Model Name: Zenfone 9
Firmware Version: WW_32.2050.2050.34
Rooted or not: No
Frequency of Occurrence: Very frequent

If this is an intended feature (I doubt it), there should be at least a way to disable/enable it.
Left as is, it impacts the usage of applications and games with UI elements placed close to the status bar, with any imprecise double tap locking the phone...
