Hi all, I am decently experienced with cell phone repairs. My Zenfone 8 (SN M9AIB7603000VX5) died on me while I was texting today. In the past, I've replaced the rear camera, headphone jack, battery, and charge port. They were all working fine, the phone was not having any issues. I didn't get any popup error, just went black. The charge LED indicator does not light up when I plug it in, and the phone will not turn on at all. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Same issue happened to a friend’s Zenfone 8 it just shut down randomly and wouldn’t charge or show any lights. They tried different chargers, cables, even left it plugged in for a while, but nothing worked until support confirmed it was a hardware fault. Might be worth trying recovery or fastboot mode, but if that fails, I’d suggest reaching out to Asus directly.

If your Zenfone 8 randomly died and won’t charge, try force restarting by holding the power button for 20 seconds. Ensure you're using the original charger and cable. If the issue persists, refer to the Zenfone 8 Bricked While Charging thread for more solutions.
