Spinning Compass Issue

I have a problem with the ZenFonе 8 compass. The compass goes crazy - it rotates non-stop in all applications that use it. I have seen other complaints with the same problem but have not found a solution. Is it a software or hardware problem?

I had the same problem. The final solution was to let Asus replace the main board of the phone.

It turns out that the problem is hardware. Quite unpleasant considering that I have used it for 6 months and it is a relatively expensive phone. And now obviously he will have to go for repairs while he is under warranty, and I rely on him for a lot of things.
