Smaller size for.photos

I'd like to have smaller files for my photos. An option for lower resolution would be fine.
I'd hope to get 1MB instead of typical 4MB.

Currently, the camera does not have a lower resolution plan, you can go to "ideas for next" to make suggestions, or use other software to edit the photos to a lower resolution to reduce the file size.

It is not about resolution but compression ratio. Typically when I batch convert photos using Irfan view with 83% I get the same result with 3 times smaller file

both resolution or compression are acceptable ways for me.
Probably one of them is better than the other, I don't know which.
