Cannot turn off alarm clock

Sometimes it happens that I cannot turn off the alarm clock - I can unlock the screen, but there are no controls to turn off / silence the alarm clock. It is not regular and usually happens in the morning when I am sleepy.... so cannot remember, what triggers this behavior of the phone.... Do you have the same experience?
