I'm still quite hesitant to upgrade to Android 12, is it already stable? With Asus not providing support for local back-up it's quite risky to update and unable to restore if I run into problems
It was stable when I used it on a previous Zenfone 8, in that it didn't hang, crash or reboot. But if you hold the phone to your ear when making calls I'd strongly advise not upgrading until ASUS fix the proximity sensor bug (see other threads)
