What's the difference between WW and country specific variants ?

Can anyone carify the differences between WW and country specific variants in OS? In the release note I don't see any differences in updates but fixes irrespective of counties.

Oh ok..... I thought WW was WorldWide and has more band inclusion in it.

I bought the phone in Italy and my software version is WW ....
