Calls not received. Texts delayed.

Hello. Just upgraded to the ZenFone 6 (Edition 30) over the new year and notice that many calls from family and friends are going straight to voicemail. I tested this with a friend in the room, and out of 5 attempts, only 3 made the phone ring. Many important calls for business do not ring at all. I am using Ultra Mobile (T-Mobile MVNO) and have done the usual run-around (reset phone, empty cache, check all settings for fowarding, DND, and such). Even on a fresh install, it is experiencing the same phenomenon. I tried a different phone and it seemed to consistently work...I'll keep testing.
I wanted to see if anyone else had issues with not getting calls or texts (irrespective of carrier) or if it could be just carrier issues for me. I have great coverage in my area, thus it is not like I am roaming or disconnected. Thank you for the help.

Just went ahead and did the "secret code" in the phone app to force-enable the menu options for WiFi calling, and set it to the option that prefers the mobile network over Wi-Fi. Have had no problem receiving calls while Wi-Fi is on since.

On T-Mobile? I tried it again after the new update (2003.144) and there's no change for me. I can turn on the setting but it doesn't do anything.

I think the theory he is working with (correct me if I am wrong) is that he wonders if even though wifi calling doesn't work with tmobile, maybe it is somehow interfering with calls/texts coming through sometimes, do he changed the setting for wifi calling to "call over mobile network" instead of "call over wifi" so that hopefully it wouldn't interfere. I would think just turning it off would "work" too, if this even does have anything to do with it.

If that is the case, we would like to log your phone for more information. I'll send you a PM.

Despite the menu disappearing after reboot until the code is entered again, the actual settings for Wi-Fi calling seem to be preserved. Since entering that code, even after rebooting, VoIP calls are coming in fine.
