USB File Transfer not working

Please tell us some basic information before asking for help:
Model Name: Zenfone 5z
Firmware Version: 1.04.07.13 S/W Version - Latest up-to-date
Rooted or not: NO
Frequency of Occurrence: First time
I was experimenting in Developer Options - Default USB Configuration. I selected "No Data Transfer" from the Original "File Transfer" . Now I need to transfer files so I changed it back to "File Transfer" But nothing works. Rebooting phone also did not work. When I plug in the phone using USB nothing happens. There is no Notification panel icon to Tap and change anything. I am stuck. I cannot transfer files anymore.

Hi, we'd request you follow the below steps:
1. Developer mode needs to be used only if you are aware of things.
2. Please try to enter "Safe Mode". If the function works well in Safe Mode yet the issue remains out of Safe Mode, please check for any disturbance from the installed 3rd party apps.

3. Try disabling developer mode - Once you are in developer mode top option
4. If still you face the issue factory reset your phone after taking
a full backup : https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1006346/
