earphones plug in but i cant hear a thing

pls help i plugged my earphones it says it's plugged in but i cant but its broken

1.Reboot phone and check again.
2.Try another pair of earphones. Check if they are working.
3. Make sure you have not muted device's audio output.
If above steps don't work the 3.5mm headphone jack is damaged. You need to visit service center if possible.
