Zenfone 10 asking for pin every 3-4 times when unlocking

I have latest firmware WW/EU 33.0220.0220.5 with both face and fingerprint unlocking set up, I have selected the press only option to unlock the device but even so after every 3-4 times unlocking my device within an hour it requires my pin number?, I understand that it is required after 4 hours of inactivity and after 72 hours but this is ridiculous !!, any thoughts ??

HI @Mansi_ASUS , firstly, remind me how I share logs? ( it's been a while 😂 ), secondly I've only had the phone for a week or so and it seems to have been happening since I set it up.

Hey @martinparker28,
Sure, here are the details:

  • Open the calculator app and input .19595+=
  • Select the 'General' log category.
  • After your selection, the log tool will exit so you can recreate the issue or wait for it to happen.
  • Try to use the screen recorder to show your issue when possible. If you can't screen record your issue, then please take a screenshot right after the issue has occurred (as a timestamp) so we know where to look in the log.
  • Navigate back to the logging tool via calculator and Tap "FINISH AND SHARE".

It takes several minutes for the log to generate. A silent notification will tell you once the process is complete. Tap the notification and then the share button to upload the file to Google Drive and share the link with me via PM.

Once you are done producing the log, enter “.09595+=” in the calculator and the log tool will stop as well as deleting all stored log files.

UPDATE - After checking that google smart lock was off I then checked in Settings- Display- Smart Screen and it was ON, I turned this off over an hour ago and since then I have not had to use my pin number to open the phone, face unlocking works....I'll keep you posted, @Mansi_ASUS  I take it that this Smart Screen setting is an ASUS UI and is different from google smart lock?

As in this setting? See pic.

Doesn't feel like this setting should alter the biometric authentication. But hope this works for you.
