Poor outgoing sound quality

Hello,

other people report hearing me with a "metallic" filter and my speech is uncomprehensible most of the time.

If I speak up they say it's better, but the quality is still bad.

Here are the log files and all system specs:

It sounds like you're experiencing significant audio issues with your microphone, resulting in a "metallic" filter and unclear speech. While I can't access external links, here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:

  1. Check Microphone Settings: Ensure your microphone is set as the default recording device and check the input volume.

  2. Update Drivers: Make sure your audio drivers are up to date.

  3. Adjust Audio Settings: Disable any sound enhancements or effects in your system settings.

  4. Test with Different Applications: Use various apps to see if the issue persists across all platforms.

  5. Change Microphone: If possible, try using a different microphone to determine if the problem is hardware-related.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, reviewing the log files for audio-related errors could provide more insights. Let me know if you need further assistance!

  • Microphone Settings:

    • Check your microphone settings in the operating system and any software you're using. Make sure the correct microphone is selected and that the levels are adjusted properly.
  • Driver Updates:

    • Ensure that your audio drivers are up to date. Visit the manufacturer's website for your sound card or motherboard to download the latest drivers.
  • Noise Suppression:

    • Disable any noise suppression or audio enhancement features that may be affecting sound quality. These can sometimes distort the audio.
  • Microphone Placement:

    • Position your microphone closer to your mouth, if possible. This can help improve clarity.
  • Test with Different Apps:

    • Try using different applications to see if the issue persists across all of them. This can help determine if it's software-specific.
  • Check Hardware:

    • Test your microphone with another device or use a different microphone with your current setup to rule out hardware issues.
  • Audio Format Settings:

    • If you're using recording software, check the audio format settings (bitrate, sample rate) to ensure they are set appropriately.
