Asus Zenfone 10 in 2025?

Hello everyone,

I prefer **small phones**, and the most important things for me in a phone are **long battery life** and a **good camera**.

I used to have the **Galaxy S10e**, which was a great phone, but its **weak battery** was a major issue for me. I couldn’t find a good small phone for a while, so I ended up getting the **Galaxy A52s**, which is a complete phone with everything I need. However, **its size is too big** for me, and I struggle with it sometimes. The battery lasts almost a full day, which is good.

Now I’m thinking of switching and I’m considering the **Asus Zenfone 10**, which is available in limited stock at my local store. I read about it, but I found that it has **many software issues**, doesn’t allow much **customization or unlocking bootloader**, and Asus didn’t fully deliver on its promises, although **everyone praises its battery life**.

+The front camera of the ZenFone is bad, especially with WhatsApp or Snapchat calls, compared to the Samsung.

I also thought about **Sony Xperia**, but the **back button** is a dealbreaker for me. Installing a **custom ROM** could be an option, but not all Sony Xperia phones have good custom ROM support.

The last phone I’m considering is the **Galaxy S23**, but I’m **worried about the battery life** and it wide.

I’m really confused. What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

What about Pixel 9a?

ZenFone 10 is generally ok for me. Negative is this wird issue with rigtone/notification sounds not played on headphones. It would be nice to have option for unlocking bootloader but OEM system is working fine for me so far so I can live with that.

Honestly the back camera setup isn't quite 2025 levels. In all honesty, my old OnePlus 7T Pro generally gave more consistent results, did macro way better and had telephoto which I do miss somewhat.

The caveat is I'm used to seeing Pixel results nowadays, and the Pixel 6 and 9 Pro are both better than the Zenfone by some margin. GCam should help, but you lose some of the nifty features and introduce some odd bugs.

I think since asus doesn't support any more future android versions for the Zenfone 10 I would not choose it. You will be stuck with old software forever and only receive security updates. Even the option for custom rom is not possible anymore, so my reccomendation is hands off.
